Chiriqui is a western coast province of Panama. Project is located in a very remote location, which can not be accessed by road throughout most part of the year. The project consisted on the demolition of old existing classrooms and latrines, and the construction of a new education compound, including septic system, teacher dorms, security fence, and a solar panel system to provide a long-lasting, environment friendly electrical service.
Darien is a province in Panama located at the eastern end of the country. The area surrounds the border with Colombia and it is known as the Darién Gap, which is a large swath of undeveloped swampland and forests. The area is considered a forgotten area of Panama, and with no roads access, it is the missing link of the Pan-American Highway.
The project in Darien consisted of design – build of three schools in Nuevo Progreso, Canglon and Quebrada Felix. Weather is adverse on all locations due to intense rain along nine months of the year. Additionally, the region is considered a conflictive zone.
